Mepilex Border Post-Op Dressing is a self-adherent dressing used for post-surgical wound care. It effectively absorbs blood and exudates, helping to maintain a clean and moist healing environment. Its absorbent layers reduce the risk of maceration, which can occur when the skin around the wound becomes too moist. This feature helps promote faster healing while protecting the surrounding skin. The dressing is equipped with a waterproof outer film that acts as a barrier against dirt and bacteria, ensuring that the wound remains protected from external contamination.

Mepilex Border Post-Op dressing is its Safetac wound contact layer, a unique silicone adhesive technology. This layer ensures gentle adhesion, minimizing pain and discomfort during dressing changes and reducing trauma to both the wound and the surrounding skin. It is ideal for post-operative use, and is a reliable choice for patients and healthcare professionals looking for a dressing that combines comfort, protection, and advanced healing support.

Key Features of Border Post Op Dressing:

Gentle and Secure Adhesion: Mepilex Border Post-Op features a gentle silicone adhesive border that adheres securely to the surrounding skin without causing trauma to the wound or the peri-wound area. The silicone border minimizes pain during dressing changes and reduces the risk of skin damage.
Superior Absorption: The absorbent pad of Mepilex Border Post-Op is made with Safetac technology, which effectively absorbs and retains wound exudate (fluid) while minimizing the risk of maceration. This helps create an ideal moisture balance in the wound bed, promoting a conducive environment for healing.
Low Friction Design: The outer layer of the dressing is designed to reduce friction and shear forces, which can be especially beneficial for post-operative wounds where mobility may be limited. This design feature helps prevent pressure ulcers and maintains the integrity of the dressing during patient movement.
Bacterial Barrier: Mepilex Border Post-Op has a semi-permeable backing film that acts as a barrier against external contaminants while allowing for moisture vapor exchange. This helps reduce the risk of infection and maintains a moist wound environment conducive to healing.
Easy Application and Removal: The dressing is easy to apply due to its self-adherent properties, and it can be removed with minimal pain or damage to the wound area. This makes dressing changes less traumatic for patients and healthcare professionals.
Versatile Sizing: Mepilex Border Post-Op is available in various sizes to accommodate different surgical wounds, making it suitable for a wide range of post-operative applications.

How To Use Border Post Op Dressing:

Cleanse the wound and the surrounding skin in accordance with clinical practice.
Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
The Mepilex Border Post-Op wound pad should overlap the wound by at least 1-2 cm in order to protect the surrounding skin from maceration and fixate the dressing securely.
For dressings with one release film, remove the release film partly or completely. For dressings with two release films, remove the small release film partly or completely and then remove the larger release film, partly or completely.
Apply the adherent side to the wound, allowing initial fixation of the dressing. If applicable, gently remove the remainder of the release film(s) while smoothing the dressing with the other hand to avoid wrinkles. Do not stretch the dressing during application.
Grip the application frame and tear the perforation apart.
Gently remove the application frame. Avoid wrinkles while fixating the edges by smoothing the dressing with the other hand.
