• Polymed Ryles Tube For nasogastric introduction of nutrition and aspiration of intestinal secretion

• Function: Ryle's tubes are primarily used for gastric decompression, enteral feeding, and administering medications or contrast agents. They can also be used to remove fluids, gas, or toxic substances from the stomach.

• Insertion: The Ryle's tube is inserted nasally through one nostril and carefully advanced down the back of the throat, through the esophagus, and into the stomach or duodenum. The tube's position is verified through X-ray or by measuring the external length of the tube.

• Design: Ryle's tubes are typically made of flexible polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or silicone material to minimize discomfort during insertion and use. They have multiple channels or lumens that allow for the passage of fluids, suction, or inflation of a balloon to secure the tube's position.

• Gastric Decompression: The tube can be used to remove excess air, fluid, or gastric contents from the stomach to relieve symptoms such as bloating, vomiting, or distension.

• Enteral Feeding: Ryle's tubes are also used for enteral nutrition when a patient is unable to consume food orally. Liquid nutrition or medications can be administered through the tube directly into the stomach or duodenum.
