It makes artificial air through which a patient breathes takes in and out.The main components of a bain circuit include are corrugated, flexible, and low-resistance tubing.Bain circuits utilize a high new gas stream to convey anesthetic gases to the patient's aviation route and to clean out the breathed-out carbon dioxide.
Tubing: The tubing of a pediatric Bain circuit is shorter in length compared to an adult circuit. It is typically around 1 to 1.5 meters long to accommodate the smaller size of pediatric patients. The tubing is made of a flexible, transparent material for ease of handling and visibility.
Y-piece: Similar to the adult Bain circuit, the pediatric circuit also features a Y-piece connector at the patient end of the tubing. The Y-piece allows for the attachment of various components such as a pediatric face mask or a smaller-sized endotracheal tube.
Inspiratory Limb: The inspiratory limb of the pediatric Bain circuit carries the fresh gas flow from the anesthesia machine to the patient's airway. It may have a smaller diameter and be more flexible to suit the needs of pediatric patients.
